VacationS IN North Florida

Northwest Florida Vacations-
beaches
- area
These vacations in North Florida offer a wealth of affordable activities for the price-conscious traveler. Florida beach vacations are enjoyable since there is no charge for visitors to enjoy the pristine beaches, rolling dunes and sparkling emerald waters along Pensacola's miles of sugar-white beaches.

Additionally, many of the city's other museums charge less than $5 for admission. Dollar-for-dollar, Pensacola gives visitors more value than just about any other part of Florida. Surveys regularly show Pensacola's costs are below the Florida average.

Rated the No. 1 beach in America in 1995, Panama City Beach has more than 18,000 hotel, motel and condominium units to suit any budget. From October to early March, during the resort area's off season, many accomodations are slashed up to 50 percent.

Central Florida Vacations-
Across the region value and excitement go hand in hand, making a trip to this area one that's fun and easy on the pocketbook.

In Florida's capital city of Tallahassee, visitors can enjoy touring museums and government buildings for free, including the Museum of Florida History, the Old Capitol, the New Capitol and the Governor's Mansion.

During Tallahassee's summer and winter off-season, many hotels lower their rates, but with an average room rate of $45, accommodations are economically priced all year long. In Alachua County, discover North Central Florida's rugged natural beauty and enjoy affordable accommodations every day of the year. With average room rates under $53 per night, Gainesville accommodations are among the lowest priced in the state.

East Florida Vacations-

Vacations in Florida - Amelia Island
On Amelia Island, travelers can enjoy historic accommodations at an affordable price during the island's "Secret Season." From October through February, visitors staying two midweek nights at participating accommodations receive a third night for free.

Vacations in Florida - Jacksonville
Free tours of some of Jacksonville's premier historical attractions — Fort Caroline National Memorial and the Kingsley Plantation — are just the beginning of the savings visitors can expect to find in "Florida's River City by the Sea." Strolling along the St. Johns River, visitors may hear the strains of country, rock, blues or jazz floating on an evening breeze. Follow the beat to the Jacksonville Landing on the St. Johns River, where free outdoor concerts are played every Friday and Saturday night from March through December. Additionally, visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, hiking and exploring beachfront state parks for a few dollars per vehicle. Business or leisure travelers interested in playing golf in Florida's First Coast can arrange free advance tee times by calling Tee Times USA, a centralized reservation system for area courses.

Vacations in Florida - St. Augustine
St Augustine accomodations include 26 bed-and-breakfast inns that offer special discounts year round. Guests staying Sunday through Thursday will save from 10 to 30 percent on full-priced weekend rates. During the summer, visitors are treated to free tours of Flagler College's magnificent Ponce de Leon Hall.
